Security Doors 'R' Us is the residential doors brand of a long-established London security firm. We specify, supply and install certified security doors for homes across London and the wider UK. We are a consultative specialist rather than an online retailer: a surveyor visits the property, the door is manufactured to the exact specification of the opening and the security need, and our own team carries out the fit.

Forty years of experience sit behind the business, in the security trade and in installation. The firm earned its reputation fitting security gates, and the doors brand applies the same standards to front doors. Doors are made to measure for each property by specialist manufacturing partners to our specification; we do not run our own factory or workshop, and we take responsibility for the survey, specification, fit and aftercare.

## Locking and access

Security is never the door alone. It is the door, frame, locking system and installation working as one engineered assembly, which is why locking is specified with the door build rather than added afterwards.

- Biometric fingerprint entry, recessed into the doorset and fitted with the door.
- Smart locking technology and keypad entry where preferred.

## Certifications and standards

Security is proven by independent standards, not by adjectives. The standards relevant to our doors are:

- Secured by Design. The UK police initiative that certifies products tested to the physical security standards police recommend for homes. Accredited products are independently tested by a UKAS-accredited test house and reviewed by Police Crime Prevention Initiatives, the organisation that runs the scheme. Many home insurance policies require doors and locks to meet a recognised police-approved standard.
- PAS 24. The enhanced-security performance standard for doorsets, covering the whole door, frame, hardware and glazing as a tested unit rather than any single component.
- LPS 1175. A graded loss-prevention standard rating how long a door resists a determined attack using defined tool kits. Our steel doors are built and tested to SR3, with SR4 available.
- RC3 and RC4. The resistance classes applied to our aluminium and pivot doors.

## Thermal performance

A front door loses more heat than a window of the same size. The measure is the U-value, in watts per square metre per degree of temperature difference, and the lower the number the better the insulation.

- A standard uninsulated timber door sits at around 3.0 W/m²K.
- The Part L threshold for a replacement door in an existing dwelling is 1.8 W/m²K.
- A high-performance insulated door reaches 0.8 W/m²K or below.
- Our steel doors reach 0.8 W/m²K or better; our aluminium doors up to 0.8 W/m²K.

A thermal break is a structural feature, not a finish. In aluminium it is a reinforced polyamide section bonded into the extrusion so the cold outer face and warm inner face cannot pass heat between them, which also prevents the cold inner surface where condensation forms. In steel the same principle is delivered through a high-density insulated core inside the leaf, closed by a double perimeter seal.

1. Free site survey. We visit, measure the opening, and talk through the security need and the look you want.
2. Written quote. A fixed quotation against your exact specification, with no obligation. We do not quote online or sell from a basket.
3. Specification and order. The door is specified to the property and manufactured to that specification.
4. Installation. Our own fitting team installs the door. A door is only as secure as its fit.
5. Aftercare. We stand behind the work after handover, with installations guaranteed for up to 10 years.

## Common questions

- Is a steel door more secure than a composite door? For certified security, steel is the stronger choice. What matters most is the tested standard the doorset meets, such as PAS 24 or LPS 1175, and the quality of the installation.
- Which standards do insurers care about? Secured by Design, PAS 24 and LPS 1175 are the recognised marks. There is no single branded "insurance approved" door; the standards are what insurers look for.
- What do SR and RC ratings mean? SR ratings come from LPS 1175 and grade how long a door resists a determined attack with defined tool kits. RC is the equivalent resistance class applied to our aluminium and pivot doors. Higher numbers mean a longer hold against heavier tools.
- Do you sell doors online? No. Every door is surveyed, specified and fitted. Enquiries start with a free site survey, not an online order.
